That's great. It's good to know that some people are still showing the love for Megumi and Aoshi. :)

We may be few, but we seem to linger like a bad fangirl horde :3

*waves* i'd be a new member :D i'm actually quite familiar with the Shrine of Ice and Fire -- i'm the Ann_ credited in the Reasons and Fanart sections. Got hit by a sudden wave of nostalgia for fanfics of the lovely couple recently and went to check ffnet, and very belatedly discovered that there was an LJ group.

I think what really throws me off is that you've been under my nose at deviantart all these years too :o

Glad you found us. We're still kicking around (and some of us are still sitting on unfinished fics that occasionally rear their heads once in a while), so keep poking at us here. Our sense of duty, obligation, and rabid fangirlness compels us to update once in a while xD

ETA: I think I nee dto see if the old links still work to some of the old doujin stuff xD

My presence at dA is... really spotty XD; i tend to drop off for years at a time. i'm really bad at keeping up with any kind of journal or social networking site in general.

It pleasantly surprised me to see there were still fics being written after so long. And if poking and/or baiting with fanart would help, then i'll be sure to provide either or both XD

I think we're still writing partly because for many of us there hasn't been a fandom that really replaced Kenshin with such a good rich series of characters to pull from and enough "openness" left for interpretation. Until Hakubaikou passed away , we also had still some sort of rallying point for fic and art...

One of the reasons why I think we still write Meg/Aoshi though is that most of us love to write and these two are just fun fodder for our creative energies. It's like finding your security blanket, I guess .

As for the community, there were always so few of us that we have stuck together against the raging fans of other pairs, who incidentally have mostly moved on to other things and other fandoms. (We win by survival? xD )

We did talk about prompts for ficlettes and art though before. I am sure people would love to see some stuff again.

I've been thinking about revamping the Shrine and asking folks to contribute one small piece at some point, although I think it'll have to wait until next summer . It'd be nice to have some essays looking back on it all. I think most of us have grown a lot as women these past few years, so I would be curious to see if the appreciation for Megs and Aoshi has changed over time.
