As a tangent to this thread over in rk fans, have you ever thought about who would play Aoshi or Megumi in a live action drama or movie?

And on another note, what happened to hitomi's long dissection of A/Meg that used to be here.

Does a copy still exist soemwhere

I haven't because I never thought it would be made in live action, but after seeing some animes getting some live action movies, why not. But I still think of noone who would play Aoshi or Megumi, but it would be interesting to see who would play them if RK become a movie. As for the Hitomi's dissection of A/Meg I found this website.

That is it. I know she still have a LJ account. I would just leave her a line and see does she still has it. :) I hope I was able to help.

scary! I don't know if she knows that's up there! (She responded below btw, and I think I need to drag up that essay as it was part of the c ontent for the static IceFire site :) )

Haven't thought much about whether Aoshi would even appear in a live action Kenshin film. I'm not really sure... if anything if I did a live action Kenshin film, I"d do the Tomoe stuff because SHinsengumi + Kenshin = Instant ratings..

But of course I have. Except I'm shitty with Japanese actors. I don't watch enough movies or j-dramas, and the ones I've seen...don't have Aoshi/Megumi-worthy candidates.

But if we were doing a general Asian casting call, Tony Leung. He's a bit on the old side, but he cleans up really nicely. If you add a deadly, menacing aura to his character in "In the Mood for Love," it's basically Aoshi. XD And he's phenomenal in Infernal Affairs.

Joan Chen, also on the older side, but gorgeous and funny. She plays a hilarious pregnant widow who's been ostracized by the Chinese American community in "Saving Face."

Tony has a nice long face, which I think would work. But Joan Chen - man she's so old now that I"d have a hard time imagining her as a 21 year old !!!

I think a live action would work better with all the characters older anyway. It's hard to believe anyone's in their twenties and as "seasoned" as they are. I suppose that might be the point with the war prematurely aging everyone, but I think in general, I just respond better to older, experienced actors.

Turns out, Tony and Joan are only like a year apart!! Imagine that!

If they do a live action, Saitou is just automatically in it, regardless of what arc they do. XD I wish I had a good Saitou in mind...but I don't know that I do. He's gotta have a brutal face. XD

Oh, there's Tadanobu Asano (someone actually Japanese XD). He's got a great look to him and I liked him in Beat Takeshi's Zatoichi. (Only he's ten years younger than Tony and Joan!!)

I could have sworn I had actors in mind at one point, but they're escaping me atm. They probably weren't Japanese though. And are probably all too old for the parts. :(

re: that essay, I made a backup of the site before geocities went down, but I have to dig it up. It's around somewhere... XD

would you mind sending it to me? i'll readjust the links to it and reincorporate it into the site. OR, if you post it in LJ, leave it up and in a stable place and I"ll use that link ;)

Sure, though in that case there are parts of it I actually want to rewrite first. (I should edit out the parts that reference fanfic...)

I'm also really tempted to add an extra horoscope section just for kicks. XDD

I'll send something to you this weekend maybe!
